Research at Virginia Tech

My current labor of love since 2008 and a key area of ongoing communication with related office units within the Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation (OVPRI) at Virginia Tech.

The Research Home Page of Virginia Tech serves as the parent home page for the university's research enterprise. Over the years the website has served as a landing page for various communications pieces highlighting the groundbreaking research being conducted at Virginia Tech. I currently serve as webmaster for this project.

Responsibilities

Please note - this web site is currently under review for being redesigned due to launch of new university brand in Fall 2017.

  • Integration, training, maintenance, and support of Drupal content management system that runs the site.

  • Provide consultation to ensure that the website is within compliance of University Relations brand standards. This web site has been through 3 design changes while I've served as webmaster, with an upcoming 4th change to be completed in 2018.

  • Oversee cycling of front page content weekly and bi weekly depending on relevancy of upcoming communications schedule.

  • Engage content owners to ensure content is up-to-date.

  • Audit content and work with units to ensure best practices are used in terms of web and 508 compliance standards.

  • Maintain documentation on both web infrastructure and content involved with each project.
